Alia Hussain Lootah is an Emirati artist and co-founder of the Medaf Studio in Dubai. Medaf Studio is an art center that was launched in early 2017. The aim of the studio is to introduce children and adults to art as a form of self expression and an outlet for creativity. Lootah was one of the first artists chosen to be enrolled in the Shaikha Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship Program (SEAF). Her thesis focused on exploring the concept of motherhood through the art of sculptures. Lootah’s current works focus on bodies of art with the theme of understanding the interpersonal relationships between mother and child.
